Triptych Posters
The Job
For this project, I was assigned a type designer and their corresponding typeface to create a series of typography posters that highlighted the key features of the type family.
Design Statement
My given designer was Adrian Frutiger and his font Serifa. The purpose of this project was to emphasize the exploration of typography on a large scale and engage readers with a cohesive layout across each of the 3 posters.
My Process
I began by researching the designer and exploring the typeface through the application of various typography experimentations. Once I became familiar with the letterforms and how they work under different stylistic approaches, I began to question what exactly I wanted the feel of the posters to be. I decided to emphasize Frutiger’s timeless contributions and the font’s attribute of flexibility. Serifa is a font that is clean and geometric yet still capable of expanding into fun letterforms. The final design uses typography in various forms that showcase the flexible letterforms of Serifa and Frutiger’s lasting mark . The color palette of black is professional and clean while the bright green is youthful and innovative.
